Demonstration Outside of the Canadian Embassy in Washington DC on Saturday 4/28
There will be an anti-asbestos demonstration outside the Canadian Embassy in Washington DC on Saturday 4/28. Canada maintains a nationally-sponsored chrysotile industry that produces and distributes asbestos across the globe, risking the health of workers and their families as well as all the rest of us. They have stubbornly resisted any suggestions that this practice should be halted, which has contributed to the failure of past attempts at an asbestos ban.
April 28th is International Workers Memorial Day, an appropriate date to expose Canada's "dirty little secret". The demonstration is being put together by the White Lung Association, who have received a permit to assemble from 2PM to 4PM outside the Canadian Embassy, located at 6th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue (not far from the White House).
