Mesothelioma Regional Conference: Philadelphia Scientific Session

Translational Research for Mesothelioma: Update and Opportunities for Communication is a scientific session that will be held from 7-10am on Friday, September 26 in collaboration with Penn's Abramson Cancer Center prior to the day-long mesothelioma conference. The session will be held at The HUB at the Cira Centre at 2929 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

The session is co-chaired by Joseph Friedberg, MD, of Penn's Abramson Cancer Center, Mary Hesdorffer, CRNP, of the Meso Foundation, and Daniel Sterman, MD, of Penn's Abramson Cancer Center. At 7:00am, the session will begin with an program overview from Joseph Friedberg, Mary Hesdorffer, and Joseph Carver, MD, of Penn's Abramson Cancer Center. The overview will be followed by a discussion and comprehensive summary of all active clinical trials being conducted nationally and internationally in the field of mesothelioma. Speakers include: Evan Alley, MD, PhD, Penn's Abramson Cancer Center; Charles Simone, MD, Penn's Abramson Cancer Center; and Marjorie Zauderer, MD, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Lastly, basic and translational research will be presented by leaders in the field in an effort to not only raise awareness of the innovative work currently being done, but also with the hope of fostering collaborative scientific relationships for future research, ultimately leading to better treatment options for patients with mesothelioma.
