Meet Mesothelioma Specialist Lee Krug, MD

Dr. Lee Krug is a thoracic oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering, as well as the direct of Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Mesothelioma Program.Lee Krug, MD is a thoracic oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering. After receiving his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Dr. Krug went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins University, and then completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Krug has over 51 publications, including “The challenge of malignant pleural mesothelioma: new directions” and “Clinical characteristics of patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma harboring somatic BAP1 mutations”. He has also run clinical trials to test new drugs and treatment strategies for patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma.

As director of Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Mesothelioma Program, he has led a number of studies exploring the benefits of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery for early-stage mesothelioma.
