The meso medical science community continues to acknowledge the Foundation's research grant program as the preeminent independent source of funding for new research. Fifty-six researchers from all around the world applied for grants in 2009. After our scientific review panel of 18 experts carefully reviewed and ranked them all, the Board of Directors voted to fund the top eight projects. In addition, all five of our 2008 grant recipients were renewed for their second year of grant funding. This brings the total of our funding for research programs from around the globe to over $6.4 million.
