16th annual Mesothelioma Awareness Day

Today is the 16th annual Mesothelioma Awareness Day! Established in 2004 by Meso Foundation community members, Mesothelioma Awareness Day has become the driving force to raising mesothelioma awareness and research funding.

You can join the Meso Foundation and mesothelioma community in recognizing Mesothelioma Awareness Day by:

Painting the world in mesothelioma blue

  • Take photos of yourself and your family, friends and colleagues wearing blue (any blue will do!).
  • Share those photos on social media to raise awareness, tag the Meso Foundation and use #curemeso.
  • Email us your photos so we can cross post them on the Foundation’s FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

Sharing the Meso Foundation’s social media posts

  • Share infographics, facts, important information and other posts that we will publish on the Foundation’s social media channels. Below are some of the graphics we’ve shared so far.

  • This fall, a state proclamation was secured in Georgia by community member and BOD member Rich DeAugustinis and in Iowa by community member Lisa Kuehl. Well done, Rich & Lisa!
  • This helpful guide from Bonnie Anderson, mesothelioma warrior and advocate, explains the process of obtaining a Mesothelioma Awareness Day proclamation from your state or locality. Now’s the time to get ahead for 2020!

Attending a third-party fundraiser benefiting the Meso Foundation in your area

The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation is the only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to eradicate mesothelioma and end this national tragedy. Its programs include the funding of promising and peer-reviewed research, education, support and advocacy. The organization strives to bring together thought-leaders in the field to identify the most direct path to a cure.
