MesoTV | Meet Shannon Sinclair, RN, BSN, OCN, the on-staff mesothelioma expert at the Foundation

The Meso Foundation Executive Director Julie Powers Iinterviews Patients Services Director Shannon Sinclair

The Meso Foundation’s Executive Director Julie Powers came up with 10 questions to ask during her interview with our Patient Services Director Shannon Sinclair, RN, BSN, OCN. Sinclair is the first point of contact for most of the patients and caregivers who reach out to the Foundation.

Below is an excerpt from their MesoTV interview:

Julie Powers: If someone needs a second opinion, how can you help them navigate that process?

Shannon Sinclair: The great thing about being with the Foundation is that the doctors and all the meso experts around the United States are very familiar with us. I’ve been able to make some great relationships with some of the different places and with some of the different doctors themselves. Generally, I can just email them; I can give them a call and let them know I’ve got a new patient and that I love for them to be able to see them, and they will get their team working on it. So, it’s kind of going sort of the back door of it; it gets the ball rolling a lot faster than if you are trying to do it on your own.
