COVID-19 Impacts on Mesothelioma Patients and their Treatment

The new coronavirus illness known as COVID-19 has already impacted the medical community and medical institutions, and by extension also patients dealing with a whole array of medical issues.

As medical institutions brace for a sudden influx of patients with COVID-19, the anticipation is that other medical services will also be impacted.

For mesothelioma patients, this can mean something as simple as rescheduling a follow-up visit if there are no immediate concerns (read our recommendations), or as complicated as understanding whether they can move forward with surgery or other types of immediately-needed treatment. While this situation is quickly evolving and changing, the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation is in contact with experts at institutions with mesothelioma programs and can help you answer any questions you may have about COVID-19’s impact on your treatment.
